You need to reprogram the remote to the receiver as both remotes are on the same frequency. This is called changing the remote address.

Press the power button on the dish network receiver then the up arrow on the physical receiver. This will bring you to the system info screen.

With the remote you wish to program, hold down the sat button until all the lights at the top flash, enter desired remote address, and press the pound # button. You will see the light flash 3 times- then press the record button. You will see the remote address change on the screen. Repeat if it doesn't work the first time.
